ERT’s 2021 Turning Point Live! conference was the biggest edition in its history, organisers have said.
Taking place over four consecutive days last month (February 9-12 ), the annual industry conference, which is organised and run by ERT magazine, was attended by nearly 400 people within the electrical retail industry and associated consumer electronics and home appliances sectors.
This year the event was held online – made up of a series of unique online webinars hosted on the BrightTALK platform via the ERT website – which allowed more people than ever before to watch and interact with the sessions.
ERT magazine Editor, Jack Cheeseman, hosted the week’s webinars alongside an incredible line-up of guest speakers.
Speaking about this year’s event, he said: “Given the difficulties we are all facing right now, and how busy retailers must be trying to continue trading, I am pleased to report that the 2021 Turning Point Live! conference was a huge success with a great turnout.
“The event took on a very different format this year, and obviously the physical event is normally twinned with the ERT Awards in London – which will return to the capital this October, but focusing just on the conference element and the fact we hosted it online in February meant we saw more attendees than ever before.”
In order to appeal to all corners of the industry, attendees were given a wide range of conference topics, including a look at the changing retail landscape in 2021, how retailers’ training needs have evolved, and the growing appetite for kitchen installations and all the associated safety aspects. The week also began with an in-depth look at market data from GfK.
Mr Cheeseman continued: “I would like to say a massive thank you to our brilliant guest speakers. We ended up delivering five fascinating webinars and that is all thanks to them. And I hope the attendees found the sessions useful and interesting.”
He added that exciting plans are underway for the physical return of the combined Turning Point Live! conference and ERT Awards in October this year.
