ERT Turning Point Live!

Running over four days (February 9-12), Turning Point Live! was made up of a series of unique online webinars covering a variety of topics to help electrical retailers strive to be the very best in everything they do.

To reflect the current restrictions in place across the UK, the conference was held online so that attendees could still benefit but from the safety of their own home.

ERT Editor, Jack Cheeseman, hosted the week’s webinars alongside an incredible line-up of guest speakers, including Nick Simon from GfK, Daniel Todaro from Gekko Field Marketing, Bill Miller from The Kitchen and Bathroom Buying Group (KBBG), Lyn Knight from Abbey Appliances, Matthew Todd from Herbert Todd & Son, Martyn Allen from Electrical Safety First, Rosie Clarke from Miele and T21 Group’s Paul Laville.

It was a fascinating week of webinars covering some very important and useful topics; they will certainly give members some food for thought given the unique circumstances we are in right now.

February 9

Nick Simon, Client Insight Director, Consumer Electronics at GfK, presented a fascinating overview of market performance covering TV, audio, smart tech and home appliances in what has been an unforgettable year.

February 10

 Daniel Todaro, MD of Gekko Field Marketing, was chatting with ERT’s Jack Cheeseman about the coming year’s trends for retail and how to continue trading with social distancing measures still in place.

February 11, Session 1

Bill Miller, MD of KBBG, spoke about electrical retailers selling fully-fitted kitchens. And retailers Lyn Knight and Matthew Todd shared their first-hand experiences of moving into this market.


February 11, Session 2

Martyn Allen, Technical Director at Electrical Safety First, hosted a special presentation looking at the importance of product registrations, the critical safety aspects of kitchen installations, and the obligation of installers and retailers.

February 12

On Friday we finished the conference on the topic of upskilling your team to strive for success! Rosie Clarke, Product Training Manager at Miele GB, and Paul Laville, MD of T21 Group, were talking about staff training.
