UK charity Electrical Safety First (ESF) has announced the details of this year’s Electrical Product Safety Conference, which will be themed around ‘The Connected Consumer’.

The event will take place online from Nov 24-25 (9am-12pm) and will be free to attend. To register for the conference, click here.

Now in its thirteenth year, the Electrical Product Safety Conference brings together experts and leaders from across the industry to explore critical issues, solutions and insights on the subject of safer electrical products – from conception, manufacture and production to sale.

ESF describes it as “a must-attend event for designers, retailers, manufacturers, product testing houses, regulators, trading standards, government bodies and safety experts”.

This year’s theme, ‘The Connected Consumer’, continues last year’s topics of embracing sustainability and putting consumers at the heart of the discussion. The event will include the following areas:

Sustainability readiness and the conflict between reparability and safety.

Inclusion in safe design and use.

Consumer appetite for connected products and behavioural impact.

Regulators panel.

AMDEA, the UK trade association for manufacturers of small and large domestic appliances, will be supporting ESF in creating the conference agenda and will also be participating in the event. It encourages its members to get involved.
