Retra Closure

Following the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on February 1st, 2024, and with 98% of members voting for closure, Retra will be ceasing operations on March 31st, 2024.

What's happening to Retra?

Retra will officially close its doors on March 31st, 2024. However, we are committed to supporting our members even after closure.

What support will I receive after Retra closes?

We've partnered with the British Independent Retailers Association (BIRA) to offer all fully paid-up members one year's free BIRA membership, starting from April 2024. 

This membership includes:

  • Access to all BIRA resources and benefits: networking opportunities, industry expertise, legal advice, training, discounts, and more.
  • Continued access to select Retra resources: This may include existing member benefits you currently enjoy. We will update you as soon as confirmation is available.

Do I have to join BIRA?

No, joining BIRA is optional. If you wish to decline the offer, please notify Pat Sheldrake by February 29th, 2024.

What if I don't join BIRA?

If you choose not to join BIRA, the money allocated for your membership will remain in the Retra bank account and will be distributed to all members at the end of the liquidation process.

What about Retracare and Novuna?

Retracare will continue to support the industry through the Pacifica group. Novuna will also directly support existing and any new dealers.


Timeline:

  • February 29th, 2024: Deadline to opt-out of the BIRA membership offer.
  • March 31st, 2024: Retra ceases operations.
  • April 2024: Free BIRA membership starts for eligible members.
