The nominees have been announced for this year’s TRIC Awards, which will be presented at a ceremony in Central London on September 15.

TRIC (the Television and Radio Industries Club) will be celebrating 52 years of the TRIC Awards, and recognising the very best TV, radio and online shows, as well as Britain’s most-loved stars and talent.

Working in partnership with Sky and OK! the awards will be presented in front of an invited audience of over 250 guests and for the first time, fans can watch all the action on a free livestream.

This year’s venue is the prestigious 8 Northumberland Avenue, in the shadow of Trafalgar Square. The event will be preceded by a red carpet for the press and media.

With thousands of votes cast by members of the public and industry experts, the shortlist contains some of the biggest and best-loved names in the broadcasting industry.

Jane Ostler, TRIC chair, said: “It’s been a tough year for broadcasters, and we’re delighted to pay tribute to all those committed professionals who kept the show on the road.

“In the 18 months since the last TRIC Awards, we’ve become a nation of box set bingers and audio fanatics. Now we can’t wait to put on our party dresses and show our appreciation for a fantastic year in TV, radio and online.”

Eighteen awards will be presented, including the TRIC Special Award. With three nominees in each category (plus four for Soap of the Year), the awards promise to be hotly contested.
