Former Peerless-AV EMEA managing director Gordon Dutch has started his own consultancy business called BBG Business Development.
Mr Dutch, who stepped back from his role as MD almost three years ago, will leave Peerless-AV in February, but remain on the board as a strategic advisor and in a non-exec role.
His new company has already been involved in numerous projects for brands, installers and retailers, and is said to offer everything from a very basic assessment of any business, through to project management, sales introductions and press and PR.
Mr Dutch has worked in the AV industry for over 30 years and has a history of success both in the retail and B2B/pro markets, including winning two lifetime achievement awards.
In his previous role as chief executive of BBG Distribution, which he sold to Peerless-AV in 2009, he was responsible for all aspects of the business and, since the sale, was instrumental in evolving the company from mainly a retail distribution business into a commercial ‘juggernaut’ within EMEA.
John Potts, chief executive of Peerless-AV, said: “Peerless-AV would like to pay tribute to the incredible work Gordon and his team have done since 2009. Peerless-AV was a brand that was well known in the US, Canada and South America. However, its sales and brand awareness since we launched Peerless-AV EMEA in 2009 has been massive.
“Gordon’s strategic leadership and incredible work ethic, along with the dynamic leadership of a best-in-class team, which he assembled, has led Peerless-AV to the forefront of the mounting business and opened new areas of opportunity, including our very successful outdoor displays, kiosks and LED systems. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Gordon and we wish him all the luck in his new venture.”
Added Nick Belcore, executive vice-president of Peerless-AV: “Gordon is well known for his enthusiastic and straight-talking style. He is bound to be a massive asset to any business that is looking to expand both within the UK and outside it.”
Commenting on his latest venture, Mr Dutch said: “I am really looking forward to getting involved in a new major business or project. While I have enjoyed the past 18 months of R & R, I realised that I wasn’t very good at golf and really missed the front line where I spent so much time building the various business ventures that remain so healthy and vibrant today.”
