CIH, part of the Euronics buying group, has named its suppliers of the year.
During its annual suppliers’ Christmas lunch, which, this year, took place at Claridge’s in London, the organisation held an awards ceremony at which it announced the winners of White Goods Supplier of the Year, Brown Goods Supplier of the Year and the Supporter of the Independent award.
Blomberg walked away with the trophy for White Goods Supplier of the Year, Sony picked up the award for Brown Goods Supplier of the Year and the Supporter of the Independent award went to Haier Europe.
Individual awards were also given to Andreas Meier, chief executive of BSH UK and Ireland, who leaves the company in February to take up a new role heading up the BSH SDA business in Europe, and Roy Dickens, Sony UK’s retail director, specialists, who is retiring next year.
CIH also revealed details of a Euronics Christmas TV advertising campaign, which will launch on December 25 and run throughout January.
Said CIH chairman Steve Scogings (pictured): “We are back on the TV – we have partnered with [presenter] Nick Knowles in his first ever TV advert.
“We believe he is the right fit for how we want to portray the CIH/Euronics members in the UK. He loves to help people and bring local communities together. We are local shops who do just that – we help our local customers.
“Our whole marketing message will start to take shape with this advert, and we will go back to showing the consumer we are local, family-run businesses and here to help our local customers.”
He added: “This is all being cemented with the launch of our new Euronics branded stores. With a new, fresh and modern Euronics logo and the local dealer’s name being more prominent to show the connection.”
