BSH has appointed Gunjan Srivastava as the new chief executive of its UK and Ireland business.
He will succeed Andreas Meier, who leaves in February to become executive vice-president and head of the consumer product division.
Mr Srivastava (pictured) has many years’ experience in the home appliances market and has been with BSH since 2014.
He joined the company as CEO and managing director of BSH India, where he was instrumental in building the brand portfolio and sales and customer service infrastructure.
In July 2019 he became executive vice-president and head of region Asia Pacific, after establishing the BSH India business as a leading player.
His current role sees him running the BSH businesses across the Asia-Pacific region, including India, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to BSH, he was managing director of Sennheiser Electronics India and has also held senior positions in companies including Philips, Gillette and Wipro.
Mr Srivastava will start his new role in April 2020, with Ting Mensing, chief finance officer of BSH UK and Ireland, deputising in the role alongside her current responsibilities during the interim period.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Srivastava said: “I’m delighted to be joining BSH UK and Ireland as the new CEO. It’s an exciting time to be taking over, as we look to build on the success the business has enjoyed during Andreas’ time as CEO.
“Working in the European market is an exciting opportunity for me, after over five years working across the Asia Pacific region, and I’m looking forward to getting started in the role in April.”
Andreas Meier added: “I’m pleased that Gunjan will be succeeding me as CEO in the coming months and I’m extremely confident the business will continue to have a successful time under his leadership.
“Despite numerous challenges and uncertainties during the past five years, we have enjoyed a huge amount of success and the foundation of this has been the professionalism and collaborative culture of our employees and customer base.
“I would like to thank everyone for their support during my time as CEO, and I look forward to seeing the business continuing its success in the coming years.”
